Begin februari is studente culturele antropologie Andrée Mulder afgereisd naar Rama om onderzoek te doen naar de Miskitu Indianen. Hieronder volgt een korte toelichting van Andrée, waarin ze uitlegt wat haar beweegt om dit onderzoek te doen.

Hi there,

I'm Andrée, a 21 years old student of Cultural Anthropology at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. I am now in my third year of studying and as my bachelor research project, I will be investigating the Miskitu Indians in Rama, Nicaragua. I chose Rama as my research location because I was already familiar with the town as Maastricht, the city where I spent most of my childhood, is connected to Rama by a city bond. My father volunteered for the organization of RaMa when I was younger, and as a child I also paid a small contribution to raising funds for the organization by working in Café Rama a couple of days a year. In this way, I became familiar with the city and with the organization, and it was natural for me to contact RaMa when I had to find a location to perform my bachelor research project.
